The memorial is located near the Brandenburg Gate. It was built between 2003 and 2005 according to a design by architect Peter Eisenman. This design represents a radical approach to the traditional concept of a memorial, partly because he does not use any symbolism. The grid pattern, consisting of 2711 concrete stelae, which can be walked through from all sides, leaves it up to the visitors to find their own way in and out of the complex.

Where You Gonna Run To
I dedicate this one to my friend Kaycee who inspired this image. We were having a conversation today about a person needing a 'moody' image for a consignment project, who had noticed that my work is mostly fairies and such. So it spurred me to try an alternate style.

I know, I know, enough with the gas masks already...
While it may not look like it, this a political photo to me. I feel so frustrated by the direction this country is going, by the growing opinion of our "leadership" that war is a preferable solution to discussion, that sound bytes and propaganda trump honesty and understanding, by the glorification of greed and power, by the gluttonous fattening of our children and our insatiable appetites to consume and throw away. A culture of convenience is a dangerous thing.

Children of the Darned
In the small New England village of Hafwich, everybody falls into a deep sleep at mid-day. No one snores, thus proving it's quite unnatural. Some months later every woman capable of bearing a kid is having one. The babies grow as fast as beansprouts while maintaining a 4.0 gpa. To their mothers' dismay, all the children have awful hair and the same freaky eyes. Worst of all, they can make their parents buy them anything they want just by looking at it! Save us! Save us from the Children of the Darned!!
